Tanzania v/s Julian Woods Cricket Academy

With 4 consecutive victories under their belt, the Tanzanian Cricket Team were looking forward to playing the Julian Woods Cricket Academy Boys Team at Reading Ground.

Losing the toss, the Tanzanian were sent to bat first under overcast conditions and lost three quick wickets of Abhik Patwa, Abdulkadir Dossajee and Nasibu Kelvin in the first six overs for only 18 runs on the board, and at one stage it looked that the Tanzanian’s would not even cross the 100 run margin.

The skipper Hamisi Abdallah rose to the occasion with Shahid Dhanani to put up a 56 run partnership before Shaheed was dismissed. He also controlled Benson Mwita to make his maiden century of the tour, while he himself settled for 51.

There were descent contribution by other batsmen which put Tanzania’s total to 270 for the loss of 7 wickets in the 50 over allotted game.

After lunch the opening pair of the Julian Woods Academy Side started to bat aggressively but once again Khalil Rehemtullah became a stumbling block by taking their first wicket in the 3 over to demoralize the batting side.

Despite losing 3 wicket in the first 10 overs the score looked quite healthy with 58 runs on the board, and anyone could would consider the game at their hand.

The spinners Athumani Kakonzi, Shaheed Dhanani and Riziki Kiseto took 2 wickets each to confine the Julian Woods Academy Team to 163 in 48 overs. Giving The Tanzanian Team a victory of 107 runs.
