Tanzania v/s Watford Town Cricket Club

Tanzania played its fourth tour match against Watford Town Cricket Club, on a rainy day and the match was reduced to a 30 overs match.

Watford Town Cricket Club won the toss elected to bat first and were off to a flying start when their opening pair by giving them a good start but then lost early wickets. The score was 70 in 10 overs with the skipper Hamisi Abdallah taking three early wickets. The spinners Athumani Kakonzi and Kassimu Nassoro came and in and pinned down the scoring rate, for Watford to settle down with a descent score of 145 for the loss of 9 wickets.

Tanzania in reply once again lost Issa Kikasi by some brilliant work on the field, followed by 2 quick wickets of Abhik Patwa and Shahid Dhanani.

Benson Mwita and Athumani Kakonzi were looking solid when Tanzania were 67 runs in 10 overs, Benson Mwita was hitting the opposition bowlers all over the park.

After the wicket of Benson Mwita on 73, Hasnain Damji and Athumani Kakonzi guided Tanzania towards victory with a 50 run partnership.

Tanzania needing 25 runs, lost 3 wickets in succession and it was the skipper Hamisi Abdallah and Kassimu Nassoro who led the Tanzanian side to victory by five wickets.
