Tanzania v/s Indian Gymkhana

The Tanzania National Cricket Team started its tour opener with the Indian Gymkhana Cricket Club and despite losing the match, Tanzania showed promising signs.

Tanzania winning the toss elected to bat first and after the loss of an early wicket of Abhik Patwa, Rishen Patel, Hamisi Abdallah and Benson Mwita solidly held the middle order scoring at an average rate.

Hasnain Damji and Abdulkadir Dossajee added a quick 45 run partnership in the last 5 overs to post the Tanzanian tally to 167 for the loss of 8 wickets in 40 overs.

The Tanzanian fast bowling duo of Hamisi Abdallah and Khalil Rehemtullah in spite of the nasty weather conditions were unplayable in the first 10 overs when the Indian Gymkhana Batsmen were only 17 runs for the loss of no wickets.

Bhavesh Govind got the break through wicket and Benson Mwita followed with 2 successive wickets.

The Indian Gymkhana Cricket Club won the match in the 36th over for the loss of 3 wickets.
