1-05-2018. GAME 3. 09.30 AM. TANZANIA V/S NAMIBIA.

Tanzania won the toss and elected to bat first. The Tanzanian duo opening batters, Skipper Monica Pascal and Fatuma Kibasu open their innings well on a grassy wicket. Fatuma Kibabu went out on a lbw in the 9th over leaving 43 runs on the score board for their team. Monica was joined by Nasra Hamza and could not build any partnership when Monica (16) was bowled out by S. Shihepo in the 11th over. Tanzania started losing regular wicket of Nasra Hamza, Perice Zakayo, Neema Justine and Nasra saidi. At this juncture the game had already tilted in favour of the Namibians. It was Mwanaiddi(23) and Tabu Omary both not out, came to rescue their team taking the final team score to 97/6 in their allotted 20 overs.





In defending the score, the Tanzanian opening bowlers Zena Hassan and Nasra Hamza bowled well restricting the Namibian opening batters to get big runs. Namibia loss their first wicket of Yassim Khan in the fourth over with only 10 runs on the score board. The Namibians started losing regular wickets and were 6 wickets down in the 9th over with only 34 runs on the board. Its was the Namibian Skipper  Van Schoor  who actually changed the whole game by getting 47 runs for her team but was caught on the boundary by Nasra Hamza.  It became a nail biting game. Van Zyl (20 not out) nearly won the game for Namibia but failed to get the required 4 runs in the last two balls. Tanzanian bowlers managed to bowl well to defend their target winning 4 runs.


Tanzania won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening batters Skipper Monica Pascal and Fatuma started well their innings trying to maintain 6/7 run an over’s. Skipper Monica was caught out in the slips by Pellagia Mujaji in the 6th over with only 25 runs on board. Fatuma was joined by Nasra Hamza and slowed up the game when Fatuma was bowled by Precious Marage in 12th over with a team score of only 37 runs. Nasra did not get support from other two incoming batters Nasra Saidi and Perice Zakayo who lost their wickets fast. Nasra was joined by Neema Justine taking their team score to 57 runs in the 16th over. Tanzania did not make much runs and settled down with a score of 76/6.








Defending the low score the Tanzanian bowlers did bowl well dismissing 8 Zimbabwean batters, but could not restrict the Zimbabwean batter to achieve their targeted score, hence losing their first game of the second round robin. Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe won the game in the 14th over with their final score of 77/8.
