Host Thailand invited Tanzania women`s team to participate in the Asean women`s T20 open championship scheduled to start from 7th to 13th March 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. The participating countries for the event were Indonesia, Bhutan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Tanzania and host Thailand. Tanzania happened to be the only country from Africa region to compete with Asian countries in this event. This was the best opportunity that Tanzania women`s team would get to share the experiences with playing with the Asian teams.

The Tanzanian women`s team departed from DSM, on 5TH March by Ethiopian airline to Bangkok to participate in the event. The team arrived in Bangkok safely and was received by the host at the airport. The team stayed at the PATRA Hotel which is some 30 kms away from the Terdthai cricket ground in Bangkok. Thinking that it would take some 1hour and 30 minutes from the hotel to reach the ground, but we were wrong, because it took us only 30 mins to reach the ground.
