Match no 3. Tanzania verses Kenya.

Tanzania won the toss and elected to bat first. Tanzanian side made one change by dropping Salum Jumbe and bringing in Jatin Darji in their lineup.

Tanzania top order batsmen, Abhik Patwa(5) Jitin Pratab singh(4) Raahil Amarshi(0) and Muhammed Khan(12) failed to give their team a good start by giving away their wickets lavishly to the Kenyan bowlers Elijah Otieno(1),Eugene Ochieng(1), Shem Ngoche(3)and Pushpak karai(2). It was only Jatin Darji(52) form the top order batsmen who managed to contribute a good score for his team with contributions from the low order batsmen, Nasibu Kelvin(wk)(11),Harsh Ramaiya(8) and Khalil Rhemtulla(7) to reach a score of 118/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

In chasing the low score the Kenyan opening batsmen Dhiren Gondaria and Alex Obanda started their innings positively. But Tanzanian opening bowler Riziki Kiseto managed to restrict them by taking their 2 early wickets in the 2nd and the 3rd over with 33 runs on the score board. It was the aggressive batting partnership from Rakep Patel (72) with Gurdeep singh(11) that took the Kenyan side to victory of 7 wickets in the 9 th over. Kenyan is placed on top of the table in the first round robin of the event followed by Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.

After the Tanzanian teams under performance in the last two games against Uganda and Kenya in the first round robin, the team management saw that there was urgent need to talk with the players in order to re coup them and brain storm them taking them out of the shell in order to play to their capable expectations and perform better before start of second round robin.

Tomorrow 11-07-2018 Tanzania will play against Uganda in the first game of the second round robin of the event.
