Introduction : 

The APL League has been set up to provide regular 50 overs and T20 competitive opportunities to players who have been performing well in their respective clubs from the ongoing domestic leagues. The system is designed to enhance the standard of the game from club level to National level. Four equally balanced teams are formed from a pool of 60 players selected on the statistics of their performance in the domestic leagues. Each team will have a foreign professional player from India to strengthen the squads in order to see more competitive games in the course of the event.

Aim & Purpose of APL :

* To create competition within local players.

* To allow the players from the pool to practice in a systematic setup which will help them share their experience and knowledge gained from APL with their clubs.

* To create a bigger pool of Advanced Players for the selection of the National Team.

Players Commitment : 

* Players have to give commitment in writing for availability of minimum 80% of games.

* Abide by ICC Code of Conduct, APL Playing Conditions and Players Participation Agreement.

Format : 

4 Teams for 50 overs and 4 teams for T20

50 Overs -  Home and Away  12 games + Final + Champ/Rest   =   14 games

T20  -  Home and Away 12 games + final + Champ/Rest  =  14 games
