Benson Mwita to lead Tanzania Under 19 in the WC Qualifiers

Benson does not have a cricketing background, he has upraised from Tanzania Cricket Association's development programme, which started in the year 2000.He joined this programme at the age of 13. He played his first international game in 2001 for the under 15 boys East African tournament, he even proved to be at his best during the under 17 East African championship in December 2002 against Kenya when he got 7 wickets in 8 overs conceding 18 runs!

 

Since then he has already cemented his place in the Tanzania National squad. He has also shown great performances in the domestic leagues by showing consistency with the bat and the bowl.

 

The selectors have given him the opportunity to lead his country in the coming Under 19 World Cup qualifiers held in Namibia. We wish him all the best.
