What the Teams had to say before the event

We had a chance to speak to all the captains and few players on their expectations of winning the Africa Women’s Cricket tournament.

Starting with the Namibian captain Margot Louw who gave us a chance to interview her. When she was asked about the expectation of winning the tournament she said “Our aim is to win the tournament and take the trophy home and we are going to do so”.

She was asked what makes her say that and she said “Our team is highly motivated, determined, confident and our preparation makes me say that”

When she was asked to comment about their opening game against Kenya she said “Kenya is good side but we can always set a decent total and pressurize them”

Margot’s teammate Eunice Nel had this to say when she was asked how the atmosphere in the Namibian Camp was. “We have a good team and we expect to put everything to win the game”

Later we spoke to the Kenyan captain Margaret Banja she had this to say on the expectation of winning the tournament.” We have come to win the tournament all along from Kenya and the players are perfect, confident, determined and physically fit”

She was asked to comment about their opponents Namibia for the opening game, she said “we are going to make them play under pressure and give our 100 percent during the game”.

Then, we spoke to the Ugandan captain, Barbra Mukankusi who said “we are looking to win this tournament and we have planned for it. We want to emerge the top and remain at the top”.

When she was asked what makes her say that, she responded “we have stayed together, practiced and we are physically and mentally fit”.

Lastly we spoke to the Tanzania captain; Anneth Banali who said that they will make sure the title remains at home, we wont speak much our actions will prove that”

After speaking to all the captains, it seems that the event is going to be an exciting one and a nail bitter. We wish all the Teams best of luck.
